Silvia Petig has been an Associate Fellow of the USA/Transatlantic Relations Program since 2014 and currently works for Karl-Heinz Brunner, member of the German Parliament.

For four years she has worked for the public affairs department of the Airbus and from 2007 to 2009 she worked for a member of the German Parliament.

Petig studied North American studies and political science in Bonn, at Ripon College in Wisconsin, in Berlin, and in Potsdam. A two-year scholarship from the University of Bonn enabled her to study abroad, where she earned a BA from Ripon College. She went on to complete an MA at the Freie Universität, Berlin. At Ripon College she was also a teaching assistant for German from 2003 to 2005. She also received a DAAD scholarship for her MA thesis research at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
